• The Master of Information Technology (Extension) curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in core IT areas, advanced specialization, and a culminating capstone experience.

1. Core IT Subjects (9 units):
   • Professional Practice and Communication in IT, Fundamentals of Programming, Information Systems in Business, Database Design and Management, Introduction to Information Networks, IT Project Management, Service and Operations Management in IT, Cyber Security, IT Capstone.
2. IT Electives (4 units):
   • Students choose from specializations such as Analytics (e.g., Data Visualisation in R, AI and Machine Learning in IT, Machine Learning Applications), Programming (e.g., Intermediate Programming, Advanced Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures), Cyber Security (e.g., Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, Bitcoin), or Web and Mobile Development (e.g., UX and Design Thinking, Website Development, Mobile Development). Cloud Architectures and Technologies is also available.
3. MBA Electives (2 units):
   • Students select two interdisciplinary MBA electives, providing a business management perspective to complement their IT expertise.

• Academic qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree (AQF Level 7 equivalent course) from a recognized university.
  • OR, an Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree (AQF Level 6 equivalent course) plus evidence of a minimum of two years’ relevant industry experience.
• Prior learning recognition
  • Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be available for relevant previous study or work experience.

Language Proficiency

• English language requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL)
  • For international students, demonstrated English language proficiency is required. Acceptable tests include IELTS (Academic) with an overall score of 6.0 (with no less than 6.0 for Speaking and Writing, and 5.5 for Listening and Reading), or equivalent PTE Academic (score of 50), TOEFL iBT (score of 64), or Kaplan Test of English (KTE) score greater than 426 overall.
