The Bachelor of Networking course is made up of common core units, a major stream (Cybersecurity or Software Engineering), and elective units, totaling 360 credit points (24 units, with each unit worth 15 credit points).
- Core Units (18 units):
- Covers fundamental concepts in programming, information systems, network security, database technology, software engineering, and project management. Includes units like Platform Technologies, Operating Systems, Networking Fundamentals, Programming Fundamentals, Database Management, and Cloud Networking.
- Major Units (4 units):
- Students can choose a major in Cybersecurity (e.g., Information & Network Security, Enterprise Cyber Security, Computer Forensics, IT Security Management) or Software Engineering (e.g., Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, Web Application Development, Software Project Management).
- Elective Units (2 units):
- Students can select two elective units from a range of IT or business areas to broaden their skills.
- Industry-based Project:
- A final-year supervised, self-directed, industry-based project that applies theoretical and technical knowledge to current information and communications technology services, preparing graduates for job-readiness.
Admission Requirements
- Academic qualifications
- Successful completion of Australian Year 12 (HSC, VCE, etc.) or equivalent secondary education qualification.
- For VCE students, a study score of at least 20 in any English and 20 in any Mathematics.
- For HSC students, Band 2 or higher in any English and Band 2 or higher in any Mathematics.
- International equivalent qualifications are assessed on a case-by-case basis (e.g., IB Diploma with at least 25 points, Indian Senior School Certificate (CBSE/CISCE) with 60% average marks).
- Prior learning recognition
- Relevant Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas may receive credit transfer, potentially shortening the course duration.
