Course Duration
The MEng Mechanical Engineering is a 5-year full-time programme, consisting of:
- Years 1–3: Core mechanical engineering modules and design projects
- Year 4: Advanced design, analysis, and group project
- Year 5: Master’s research project, professional engineering practices, and specialised electives

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements:
- A-Level/STPM: ABB including Mathematics and Physics
- UEC: 5 Bs including Mathematics and Physics
- IB Diploma: 30 points including Higher Level Mathematics and Physics
- Foundation in Engineering/Science: Minimum CGPA 3.0 with strong maths and physics performance
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS 6.0 (no component below 5.5) or equivalent
- Students not meeting English requirements may take Heriot-Watt’s English programme
