Course Overview
The MB BS course at NUMed integrates medical science with clinical practice from the outset. The curriculum is structured to develop critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning, communication skills, and ethical responsibility.
Students study basic medical sciences in Years 1 and 2, followed by clinical training from Year 3 onwards. Teaching methods include lectures, case-based discussions, anatomy labs, and clinical skills sessions.

Course Duration
The course is delivered over 5 years full-time.
- Years 1–2: Campus-based, focusing on biomedical sciences and clinical skills

Students graduate with a Newcastle University MB BS degree, equivalent to the qualification awarded in the UK.

Years 1 & 2: Foundation in Medical Sciences

- Introduction to patient care
Years 3 to 5: Clinical Training
- Internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology
- Psychiatry, general practice, emergency and critical care

Admission Requirements
- A-Levels: AAA including Biology and Chemistry
- IB Diploma: 36 points with Biology and Chemistry at Higher Level
- STPM: AAA with required science subjects
- Foundation / Matriculation: Recognised with strong science background
English Proficiency:
- IELTS 7.0 overall (minimum 7.0 in each component)
- Equivalent English qualifications may be considered
