  1. Advanced Disciplinary Units:
    • In-depth study within a chosen specialization (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Software, Mechatronics, or other advanced engineering streams), covering advanced theories, analysis, and design.
  2. Professional Engineering Practice:
    • Units focusing on project management, engineering ethics, risk management, sustainability in engineering, leadership, and communication for engineers.
  3. Research Project or Advanced Design Project:
    • A substantial individual or group project that involves research, complex design, or the development of innovative engineering solutions, often with industry collaboration.

Admission Requirements

  • Academic qualifications
    • A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from a recognized university in a closely related engineering discipline.
    • A strong academic record, typically with a credit average (65% or equivalent) or higher.
    • For some specializations, specific undergraduate coursework may be required.
  • Work experience
    • While direct work experience is not always a strict prerequisite if the undergraduate degree is highly relevant and strong, relevant professional engineering experience is highly regarded and can strengthen an application.

Language Proficiency

  • English language requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL)
    • For international students, demonstrated English language proficiency is required. Acceptable tests include IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0), or TOEFL iBT with a minimum overall score of 79 (with a minimum of 16 in all four components).
