- Year 1: Entrepreneurial Foundations & Ideation
- Semester 1: Focuses on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding business analysis for decision-making, and exploring design thinking for the experience economy. Units include ‘Entrepreneurial Mindset, Practices & Experiences’ and ‘Financing Entrepreneurial Ventures’.
- Semester 2: Continues to build foundational knowledge with units such as ‘Design Thinking for the Experience Economy’ and ‘Entrepreneurial Leadership & Innovation’, alongside an elective.
- Year 2: Strategic Entrepreneurship & Incubation
- Semester 3: Delves into more advanced strategic thinking with ‘Leadership in Uncertain Times’ and ‘Strategic Entrepreneurship’. The practical application begins with ‘Entrepreneurial Incubator: From Idea to Pre-launch’.
- Semester 4: The culmination of the program with ‘Entrepreneurial Incubator: From Idea to Launch’, where students work with industry mentors to bring their hospitality venture ideas to life, along with a final elective.
- The program heavily features learning from accomplished hospitality start-up founders, representatives, and venture capitalists, offering feedback on entrepreneurial projects.
Admission Requirements
- Academic qualifications
- Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree (equivalent to AQF Level 7) in a related field such as Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary, or Hotel Management from a recognised university.
- Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree (equivalent to AQF Level 7) in an unrelated field, plus at least two years of full-time supervisory or management work experience in the service industry (e.g., Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary, Hotel Industry) in any relevant role. This experience must be demonstrated through a portfolio including a current CV and study information.
- Portfolio/Interview:
- A portfolio (including a current CV) is required for those with unrelated degrees and relevant work experience. An interview may also be conducted to assess entrepreneurial potential and suitability for the program.
Language Proficiency
- English language requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL)
- For international students, demonstrated English language proficiency is required. Acceptable tests include IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 6.5, with no individual band score less than 6.0, or equivalent scores such as PTE Academic (overall 58, with no communication band less than 50) or TOEFL iBT (overall 79, with minimums: L13, R13, S18, W21).
