Course Overview

The MEngSt equips you with advanced engineering knowledge in a chosen field while developing your professional, managerial, and analytical capabilities. With coursework and optional research pathways, the program balances theoretical depth with practical application.

You may choose from specialisations in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Transportation, Environmental, or other engineering fields.

Course Duration

  • Full Time: 1–1.5 years (120 or 180 points)
  • Part Time: Up to 6 years
    Students can complete the degree entirely through coursework or combine taught courses with a research project depending on their chosen pathway and academic performance.

Course Curriculum

120-point (1 year) pathway – for students with prior honours or postgraduate qualifications:

  • 90 points in advanced taught courses
  • 30-point research project or design report

180-point (1.5 years) pathway – for students entering with a 4-year engineering degree:

  • Core taught courses in selected specialisation
  • Elective technical or management subjects
  • Optional research, design, or industry project

Admission Requirements

  • A four-year BE or BTech degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
