Course Overview

This course critically explores the nature of crime, the criminal justice system, and legal processes. You will examine how society defines and responds to crime and inequality, and gain knowledge of legal institutions, rights, and social control. It provides both theoretical insight and practical tools to influence justice policies and systems.

You’ll graduate with a well-rounded understanding of the intersections between law and criminology, positioning you for a range of legal and justice-focused careers or further postgraduate study.

Admission Requirements

  • Sri Lankan A/L: 3 passes (humanities or social sciences preferred)
  • UK A Levels: 96–112 UCAS points (e.g., CCC–BBC)
  • IB Diploma: 24–28 points

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
  • Applicants with an English-medium education may be exempt

Students who don’t meet direct entry criteria may apply through the Foundation Year.
