The curriculum spans core modules such as biology, chemistry, human physiology, microbiology, genetics, clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology, public health, and a final-year independent honours project. Delivered via modern science labs and pilot plant facilities, students engage in practical, theory-based, and research-driven learning (approx. 1,200 hours per year).

Academic qualifications
Completion of Sri Lankan GCE A-Levels (Local or Cambridge/Edexcel), typically with at least 3 passes including Biology and Chemistry, plus a credit in English at O-Level or equivalent.
Sri Lankan results are reviewed case-by-case—direct entry to Year 1 is standard, while articulation (Year 2/3) is possible via qualifications like NCUK or HND, but clinical placement eligibility applies only for Year 1 entrants.
Language Proficiency
IELTS Academic 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5), or equivalent: TOEFL iBT ≥ 78, PTE Academic ≥ 59, or Cambridge tests.
Exemptions possible with a certificate of Medium of Instruction confirming previous studies were taught fully in English.

Abertay International Scholarship (Undergraduate): Up to £12,000 (£3,000 per year) based on academic merit.

International Postgraduate Abertay Scholarship: £3,000 tuition fee waiver for master’s students (based on a 2:1 degree or equivalent).
