Course Overview
QIU’s Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) trains students to become versatile pharmacists — skilled in pharmaceutical technology, patient care, drug discovery, and healthcare policy. The course blends theoretical instruction with research-led teaching, complemented by over 1,200 hours of practical training.
Throughout the programme, students build competencies in dispensing, counselling, compounding, pharmacovigilance, ethics, and critical thinking — essential for today’s fast-evolving pharmacy landscape.
Course Duration
This is a 4-year full-time programme structured into 8 semesters.
Each academic year includes:

Clinical placements begin in Year 2 and extend into final-year advanced practice modules.

Note: Curriculum includes OSCE, interprofessional learning, and patient simulation.
Admission Requirements
Malaysian Students:
- STPM: Grade C in Chemistry and one other science/maths subject
- A-Level: Grade C in Chemistry and one other science/maths subject
- Foundation in Science (QIU or equivalent): CGPA ≥ 3.0
- Diploma in Pharmacy / Science: CGPA ≥ 3.75 (subject to credit transfer)
- UEC: 5Bs including Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths
International Students:
- Equivalent qualifications as approved by MOHE
- Must meet the Chemistry subject requirement
- English: IELTS ≥ 6.0 / TOEFL ≥ 550 / MUET Band 3
