Course Overview

The BFA is grounded in studio practice, theory, and art history, encouraging interdisciplinary exploration and culminating in a cohesive body of work ready for public exhibition

Four years full-time (120 credits) Open admission with standard Grade 12 (or equivalent) or mature student status; English Studies 12 with ≥ 73%

Course Curriculum

  • General Education (24 credits): introductory English, humanities, social sciences, math/science History & Theory (18 credits): includes core art history courses at 1000–4000 levels
  • Studio Practice (78 credits): foundational to advanced studio courses; final year capstone project in Studio Art or Gallery Studies

Admission Requirements

  • BC Grade 12 (or equivalent) or mature student
  • English Studies 12/First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% or equivalent
  • Applicants not meeting requirements may take upgrading courses via TRU University Preparation or High School Upgrading
