Course Overview

Architecture at Westminster combines creative experimentation with professional grounding. You’ll engage in studio-based projects that address real-world challenges in urbanism, sustainability, and technology. Workshops, lectures, and field trips enrich your learning experience and connect theory with practice.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong personal design identity, a deep understanding of the role of architecture in society, and a high-quality portfolio ready for RIBA Part 2 or architectural employment.

Course Duration

3 Years Full-Time

Each academic year is divided into design studio modules, technical studies, and historical and theoretical frameworks. You’ll work in dedicated studio spaces and have access to fully equipped workshops, model-making facilities, and digital fabrication labs.

Assessment is project-based, with reviews, portfolio submissions, presentations, and essays. There are no formal written exams.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • Sri Lankan A/L: 3 passes (including a creative or technical subject)
  • UK A Levels: 112–120 UCAS points (e.g. BBC–BBB)
  • IB Diploma: 28 points (including visual arts or design preferred)

Portfolio Required:
Applicants must submit a portfolio demonstrating creative thinking, spatial awareness, and drawing/design skills.

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
