Includes units on Foundations of Primary Mathematics, The Arts in Education, Science and Technology in Primary Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and English. Students can also complete a formal specialization within Primary, such as Mathematics, Science, Arts, or Languages.
      • Bachelor of Education (Secondary): Prepares students to teach two distinct subject specializations in secondary schools (Years 7-12). Examples of specializations include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, and The Arts.
      • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies): Focuses on the care and education of children from birth to 8 years, including childcare, kindergarten, pre-primary, and junior primary (Years 1-3).
  3. Professional Practice (Practicum):
    • A key feature of the course, involving significant compulsory supervised teaching practice in schools/centres throughout each year of the program. In the final year, students typically undertake an “Assistant Teacher Program” comprising several weeks of continuous teaching practice. Total practicum hours meet national accreditation requirements.

    • Successful completion of Australian Year 12 (WACE) or equivalent secondary education qualification.
    • A minimum ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) of 70 (or equivalent, often higher for competitive entry).

    • A satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) or equivalent criminal record check.
