Course Overview

The Bachelor in Fashion Design (Hons) trains students in every aspect of the fashion process — from conceptualisation and illustration to production and presentation. The programme fosters critical thinking, trend awareness, design aesthetics, and sustainability in fashion.

Students will graduate with a deep understanding of design methodology, garment development, branding, merchandising, and digital design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CLO 3D.

Course Duration

The programme is conducted over 3.5 years full-time, including:

  • 7 semesters of coursework and studio practice
  • Industry-based internships
  • Final-year fashion collection development and exhibition

Each semester includes hands-on design studio work, critiques, and professional development workshops.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements (Any ONE of the following):

  • STPM: Minimum 2 passes or equivalent
  • A-Level: Minimum 2 passes
  • UEC: 5Bs
  • Foundation in Art & Design (RQF Level 3): Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00
  • Diploma in Fashion / Art / Design: CGPA ≥ 2.00
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government

English Language Proficiency:

  • IELTS ≥ 5.0
  • TOEFL ≥ 500
  • MUET Band 3
  • Exemption applies if prior study was in English

Portfolio Submission:
Required for candidates without prior art/design background
