Course Overview
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) provides a rigorous grounding in mathematics, science, and design thinking during the common first year. Students then specialise in one of five engineering disciplines:
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
The program includes compulsory industrial training and a final-year honours research project, developing both technical expertise and professional competencies.
Course Duration
This is a 4-year full-time program structured as follows:
- Year 1: Common first year (foundation in engineering principles)
- Years 2–4: Specialisation (major), technical electives, professional development, and honours research project
Includes 12 weeks of industry-based learning to meet professional requirements.

Year 2–4 – Major Specialisation (choose one):
Chemical Engineering
Focus on process design, chemical production, and environmental impact. Courses include mass and energy balances, reaction engineering, and plant safety.
Civil Engineering
Cover structures, geotechnics, water engineering, transport systems, and construction management.
Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering
Study circuits, signal processing, embedded systems, automation, and power systems.
Mechanical Engineering
Includes dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, control systems, and mechanical design.
Mechatronics Engineering
Integrates mechanical, electrical, and computing technologies for automation, robotics, and intelligent systems.

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry:
- A-Level: Minimum 9 points (e.g. ABB), including Mathematics and Physics
- STPM: Minimum 9 points, including relevant science subjects
- Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT/SACE): ATAR ≥ 80
- IB Diploma: Minimum 30 points with HL Math and Physics
- UEC: 5 Bs including Mathematics and Physics
- Monash Foundation Year: Overall ≥ 70%
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
- TOEFL iBT 79
- MUET Band 4 or equivalent
