Course Overview

Chemical engineers are at the forefront of sustainable development, creating processes that transform raw materials into valuable products efficiently and responsibly. The MEng Chemical Engineering programme equips students with advanced understanding in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, reaction engineering, and process control, while embedding team-based design work and research from early years.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • A-Level/STPM: ABB including Mathematics and Chemistry
  • UEC: 5 Bs including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics
  • IB Diploma: 30 points including Higher Level Mathematics and Chemistry
  • Foundation in Science/Engineering: Minimum CGPA 3.0 with strong grades in Mathematics and Chemistry

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS 6.0 (no component below 5.5) or equivalent
  • Applicants not meeting the English requirement may take Heriot-Watt’s English programme
